single hand holding a wrapped up shiny gold string that is lit on fire. the hand holds this object delicately though the fire burns. it hasn’t quite reached her fingers, but draws attention to her nails and closer details. the solid black background creates for minimal design to focus on the main subject.

dancer looks down as she is covered in paint from what she gathered of the dripping canvas in front of her. the paint was incorporated into the movement (by artist jenifer padilla) of the performance with two other dancers where they moved about independently and together. the dancers wore minimal skin toned GARMENTS and ultimately were covered in paint.

a silhouette of plants captured before a sherbet toned sky. the colors range from a bluish-green, yellow-orange, to redish-pink. tHIS IMAGE IS A SELF-PORTRAIT OF KELA. SHE TOOK HER OWN IMAGE AS A DOUBLE EXPOSURE WITH THE FIRST LAYERED PHOTO OF ONLY THE PINK COLORED AZALEA FLOWERS AND THE SECOND IMAGE WITH HER LOOKING AWAY FROM THE CAMERA AND THE FLOWERS THERE BEHIND HER. THE LAYERING OF THE FLOWERS MAKE THEM LOOK A DEEPER COLOR THAN THEY TRULY ARE, GIVING MORE OF RED TONES IN SOME AREAS. THE EXPLORATION WITH DOUBLE EXPOSURES CONTINUE TO DRAW IN THE ARTIST TO CONSIDER NEW WAYS TO PRODUCE IMAGES.

sunset beach waves, not your typical capture with the waters showcasing in purple and peach hues. the soft sky reflecting peachy yellow blends well with the water and its textures. another layer to this visual are the faded mountains in the backdrop.

THE SUBJECT SITS ON ONE OF SEVERAL BARNACLE FILLED ROCKS AT STATION 12 ON SULLIVAN’S ISLAND. THIS IMAGE WAS TAKEN BEFORE SUNRISE SO THE WATERS ILLUMINATE COOL TONES AND THE SKY IS AT BLUE HOUR WITH SOME PINK TONES. THEY PORTRAY THE IMAGE OF BEING RELAXED, THOUGH IN REALITY THE BARNACLES ARE SHARP AND SCRATCHED/CUT THE SUBJECT. THEY LOOK AT YOU DIRECTLY WITH THEIR WAVY HAIR BLOWING IN THE WIND. THE WHITE LACE UNITARD IS REVEALING OF THE SUBJECTS BODY, HOWEVER STILL MODEST WITH A MOCK NECK AND LONG SLEEVES.
